1. Overview

This Return and Refund Policy ("Policy") governs all purchases made through EthanMakesArt and applies to all customers located in the United States. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms set forth in this Policy. This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and constitutes a binding agreement between you and EthanMakesArt.

EthanMakesArt sells resin religious lamps and related decorative items. Due to the nature of our products and our supply chain, this Policy is strictly enforced. Please read it carefully before placing your order.

2. Manufacturing Disclosure

Due to high demand, products that were previously handcrafted have transitioned to being manufactured in industrial facilities. By communicating this transition in these terms and conditions, EthanMakesArt assumes no liability for claims based on expectations of handmade or artisanal craftsmanship. The customer, by completing a purchase, expressly accepts and acknowledges this condition. No refund, return, or dispute will be honored on the basis that a product was expected to be handmade, artisanal, or individually crafted.

3. Eligibility Requirements for Returns

Returns are accepted only under the following strict and cumulative conditions. Failure to meet any one of these requirements will result in automatic disqualification from any return or refund:

3.1 Time Limitation
You must submit a written return request to ethanhandmades@gmail.com within 90 calendar days of the date of confirmed delivery as recorded by the carrier's tracking system. Requests submitted after this period will not be considered under any circumstances. The burden of proof of timely submission rests solely on the customer.

3.2 Condition of the Product
The item must be returned in its original, factory-sealed condition. Specifically:

  • The product must be completely unopened
  • All original factory seals, shrink wrap, stickers, or tamper-evident packaging must be fully intact and undisturbed
  • The product must show no signs of use, installation, assembly, manipulation, alteration, or physical contact beyond receipt
  • All original packaging materials, inner padding, accessories, documentation, and inserts must be present and undamaged
  • The product must be free of any odors, marks, scratches, or contamination

Products that have been opened, used, displayed, plugged in, or handled beyond a brief visual inspection upon receipt are not eligible for return. EthanMakesArt reserves the sole and final right to determine whether these conditions have been met following physical inspection of the returned item.

3.3 Proof of Purchase
You must provide your original order confirmation number and the email address used at checkout. Returns submitted without verifiable proof of purchase will be rejected.

4. Non-Returnable and Non-Refundable Items

The following are expressly excluded from return and refund eligibility under any circumstances, including but not limited to buyer's remorse, change of preference, or dissatisfaction with aesthetics:

  • Products that have been opened, unsealed, or had any packaging tamper-evident feature disturbed
  • Products that show any evidence of use, display, or installation
  • Products purchased during promotional sales, clearance events, or with discount codes, unless defective
  • Products damaged after delivery due to improper handling, storage, or installation by the customer
  • Products returned without prior written authorization from EthanMakesArt
  • Any order for which the customer has initiated a chargeback or payment dispute with their bank or card issuer prior to completing the return process with EthanMakesArt
  • Delays in delivery caused by carrier logistics, customs processing, weather events, force majeure, or any circumstance beyond EthanMakesArt's direct control

5. Return Shipping Costs

All costs associated with returning a product to EthanMakesArt are the sole responsibility of the customer. This includes, without limitation:

  • Return shipping postage and carrier fees
  • Packaging and materials necessary for safe return shipment
  • Insurance on the return shipment
  • Any customs, duties, or import/export fees applicable to the return

EthanMakesArt does not provide prepaid return labels under any circumstances, except where explicitly required by applicable federal or state law in connection with a confirmed defective product claim.

Return shipments must be sent using a trackable carrier service. The customer bears full responsibility for any items lost or damaged during return transit. EthanMakesArt is not liable for undelivered or untraceable return shipments.

6. Return Authorization Process

No return will be accepted without prior written authorization. To initiate a return:

  1. Email ethanhandmades@gmail.com with the subject line: "Return Request – Order #[Your Order Number]"
  2. Include your full name, order number, reason for return, and photographic evidence of the product and packaging in their current condition
  3. Await written Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) from EthanMakesArt — do not ship the product before receiving written RMA approval
  4. Ship the product to the address provided in the RMA confirmation, using a trackable service, within 7 calendar days of RMA issuance
  5. Email your tracking number to ethanhandmades@gmail.com within 24 hours of shipment

Returns sent without an RMA number will be refused and returned to the sender at the sender's expense. EthanMakesArt will not be liable for any items sent without prior authorization.

7. Inspection and Refund Processing

Upon receipt of the returned product, EthanMakesArt will conduct a thorough physical inspection to verify compliance with all eligibility conditions set forth in Section 3. This inspection process may take up to 7 business days from the date of receipt.

If the return is approved following inspection, a refund will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Please note:

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable under any circumstances
  • Refunds will reflect only the product purchase price, minus any applicable restocking fees
  • A restocking fee of up to 15% of the product price may be applied at EthanMakesArt's discretion
  • Refunds will not be processed until the physical inspection is fully completed
  • Refund timelines may vary depending on your financial institution's processing times, which are outside EthanMakesArt's control

If the returned product fails inspection — including but not limited to evidence of having been opened, used, damaged, or missing components — the return will be rejected and the product will be returned to the customer at the customer's expense, or disposed of if the customer declines to pay return shipping costs within 14 days of notification.

8. Order Cancellations

Once an order has been submitted and payment confirmed, the order enters processing immediately and cannot be cancelled. EthanMakesArt begins fulfillment operations upon payment confirmation. Cancellation requests will not be accepted after this point.

Orders that have been shipped cannot be cancelled under any circumstances. If you no longer wish to receive the order after it has shipped, you must wait for delivery and then follow the return process outlined in this Policy, subject to all applicable conditions and at your own expense.

9. Shipping Delays and Delivery Timeframes

EthanMakesArt provides estimated delivery timeframes as follows:

  • Order processing: 1–3 business days from payment confirmation
  • Shipping and transit: 13–20 business days from the date of dispatch

These timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed delivery dates. Delays caused by carrier operations, customs clearance, national holidays, weather events, force majeure, or any other circumstance outside EthanMakesArt's direct operational control do not entitle the customer to any refund, cancellation, compensation, or discount.

By placing an order, the customer expressly acknowledges and accepts that shipping delays beyond the estimated timeframes do not constitute a breach of contract by EthanMakesArt and do not give rise to any refund or cancellation rights.

10. Damaged or Defective Products

If you receive a product that is damaged in transit or materially defective upon delivery, you must notify EthanMakesArt at ethanhandmades@gmail.com within 5 business days of delivery confirmation. Your notification must include:

  • Your order number
  • A detailed written description of the damage or defect
  • Clear photographic or video evidence of the damaged or defective product, including all packaging

Failure to notify EthanMakesArt within this period constitutes acceptance of the product in its received condition and waives any claim based on damage or defect.

EthanMakesArt reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether reported damage or defects qualify for remedy, and to offer, as its sole obligation, either a replacement product or a partial or full refund of the product price. Original shipping charges remain non-refundable.

Normal cosmetic variation in resin products — including minor color differences, translucency variations, or surface texture differences attributable to the manufacturing process — does not constitute a defect.

11. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer without first attempting to resolve the matter through EthanMakesArt's return and refund process as described in this Policy will render you permanently ineligible for any future return, refund, or exchange from EthanMakesArt, and may result in legal action to recover costs and damages associated with the disputed transaction.

EthanMakesArt will contest all chargebacks initiated in bad faith and will provide this Policy, along with order confirmation records and shipping documentation, to the relevant payment processor as evidence of the customer's agreement to these terms.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America and applicable federal consumer protection regulations, including but not limited to the Federal Trade Commission Act and applicable FTC regulations regarding mail and telephone order merchandise. Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit any rights you may have under applicable mandatory federal or state consumer protection law.

Any dispute arising from or related to this Policy or any purchase made through EthanMakesArt that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted on an individual basis. Class action proceedings are expressly waived to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Modifications to This Policy

EthanMakesArt reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time. Any modifications will be effective immediately upon posting. It is your responsibility to review this Policy prior to each purchase. Continued use of EthanMakesArt's store following any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
